Pra’ delle Torri – Caorle, the Casoni way (35 km)

A sunset cycling trip suitable for everyone, even the youngest, departing from the Holiday Centre in the direction of Casoni di Caorle, one of the most characteristic places in the entire area, continuing to Porto Falconera to reach the historic centre of Caorle where you can see the main sites of the city. From here, along the cycle path you will return to Pra’ delle Torri.

Excursion suitable for everyone, including children, with certified bicycle touring guide who will take care of the safety of the participants and any problems with the vehicles.
From 19:00 to 21:30 approx. with departure and arrival from the Pra’ delle Torri Holiday Centre.
Easy route of 35 km, completely flat with short dirt stretches. Most of the route is on cycle paths and low-traffic roads.
Each participant will be given an e-bike with front and rear lights, helmet and basket upon request. Should participants wish to use their own bike, this must have the minimum equipment required by the Highway Code and a repair kit.

Depending on the different times of the season, it will be possible to visit one of these places along the route:
Azienda agricola ‘La Fagiana’: a magical place surrounded by nature where top-quality rice (and other derived products) is produced using natural methods but with the latest technology. Together with Ilaria or Michele, who will illustrate the peculiarities of this farm, now famous throughout Italy, it will be possible to cycle through part of the farm and discover its main features.
Casone di Caorle: a typical building made of wood and marsh cane, once used as a dwelling by fishermen and their families. From here you can see the Caorle Lagoon, a natural and unspoilt landscape with a wide variety of fish, birds and plants. These places enchanted the famous writer Ernest Hemingway, who took inspiration for his novel ‘Across the River and Into the Trees’.
The old Cantina di Ca’ Corniani; a small architectural jewel with unique features, located in the rural hamlet of Ca’ Corniani, a historic farm just outside Caorle and extending over 1770 hectares, in an area that was marshy until 1850 and then was reclaimed and became arable land. Inside the winery it will be possible to learn all about the history of this territory.
Historic centre of Caorle: the heart of Caorle, a historic seaside town, also known as “The small Venice” for its calli, campielli (small squares) and the colours of the houses that recall the Lagoon City. Here you can also admire the Romanesque-style cathedral dating back to 1038 with its characteristic cylindrical bell tower, the Scogliera Viva (Living Cliffs), the small church by the sea and the fishing harbour.
