Eco-sustainable initiatives

The Holiday Centre Pra’ delle Torri is constantly committed to eco-sustainability and environmental protection, promoting ecological practices, using alternative energy sources, and designing new structures with a green approach, to enhance and protect the territory and demonstrate how tourism can integrate harmoniously with nature.

For an increasingly green Pra’ delle Torri

Respect for nature is a theme we hold dear. Green initiatives start with work on guest accommodation and the maintenance of the Holiday Centre areas. For accommodation and pitches we have:

Constructed Bungalow Gold and Bungalow Silver with insulating materials that keep warm or cool depending on the season while saving energy
Combated mosquitoes with a misting system using organic products based on natural extracts and an environmentally friendly insecticide. This is dispensed only once per day, in the middle of the night and for a maximum of one minute.

At Pra’ delle Torri we also carry out environmental-friendly space maintenance: we daily clean the beach, the gardens and the common areas and use electric blowers to sweep up fallen leaves.

We strive to leave the green lung of the Holiday Centre intact by planting new plant species and restoring old ones. We prune plants, if necessary, in order to rejuvenate them, strengthen them, encourage their growth, and secure them safely.

For the disposal of branches and logs, we rely on external companies which are specialised in the recovery of these to produce biomass and combustible fuel for stoves.

We are reducing paper and hence tree felling, through greater use of digital media such as apps, a dedicated TV channel and information monitors.

In addition, we have joined the ‘Adopt a Beehive’ project! Bees are the fundamental link in the entire food chain and are responsible for 80% of the food we eat every day. Nowadays they are disappearing due to the increasingly less hospitable world. The Management, which has always been attentive and sensitive to environmental issues, has decided to support 3Bee’s ambitious project by adopting a beehive.

Sustainable Innovation: Green Building at Pra’ delle Torri

Pra’ delle Torri uses a green building approach in the design and construction of new facilities, employing sustainable materials and energy-efficient technologies to minimise environmental impact.

Did you know that the shower water in this complex is heated using solar panels?

Solar thermal systems can achieve an efficiency of up to 80%, which means that the water for your shower is almost entirely heated by the sun. The system, located on the roof of this building, harnesses solar energy, reducing the use of fossil fuels and CO₂ emissions.
Heated water that is not used immediately is stored in thermal tanks, allowing it to be used even after sunset.

The data below represents the total from the combined three solar thermal systems installed on the green roofs of the three main toilet blocks in the campsite.

Solar panels: 90
Total solar field area: 226.8 m²
Total power: 162 kW
Total volume of hot water storage tanks (boilers): 27,000 litres

Energy saved during the season: 49,425 kWh *
Methane gas saved during the season: 11,400 Nm³ *

* The data is based on an estimate.

Although it is not visible, the roof of the toilet blocks is covered with vegetation.

This alternative to traditional roofing offers numerous benefits in terms of comfort, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. In particular, a green roof helps to moderate the internal microclimate, promotes energy savings, reduces air and noise pollution, decreases rainwater runoff, supports biodiversity, and improves the efficiency of solar panels.

Flow meters in the campsite toilet blocks

Flow meters have been installed in the toilets of toilet blocks 1, 2, and 3 at the campsite, replacing traditional cisterns.
These devices regulate the amount of water used during flushing, reducing waste. The main benefit is water conservation, allowing less water to be used without compromising the effectiveness of the flush.
With a total of 89 flow meters, each saving 9 litres per flush compared to traditional cisterns, it is estimated that the three toilet blocks save approximately 1,281,600 litres of water during the season.

Night lighting

LED lighting with a twilight sensor is an efficient and sustainable solution. During the night hours, the lights activate only when motion is detected, avoiding the need to fully illuminate the facility when it is not necessary. This system not only reduces energy consumption but also light pollution, ensuring that areas are lit only when actually in use, improving safety and comfort without waste.

Heating

On cool days, heating in some shower and toilet cubicles is provided by infrared lamps activated by motion sensors. This solution prevents heating unused spaces and provides instant warmth, ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. Look for the “heated cubicle” sticker on the doors.

Daylight illumination

The ceiling has openings that allow natural light to enter, along with panels that block direct sunlight, preventing overheating and improving light distribution.

Large openings for ventilation

Large side and roof openings ensure natural ventilation, providing a constant air exchange and cooling on hot summer days.

We are constantly committed to eco-sustainability

We will continue our efforts as we have done so far, activating eco-friendly services such as:

The ‘Water Dispenser’ on the main square and at the toilet facilities no. 2 and 3 on the campsite: a dispenser of micro-filtered, fresh drinking water, available natural or sparkling with a 0 km water supply. In 2021, thanks to your help we have reduced the impact of plastic on the environment, avoiding the waste of 70,000 1-litre bottles
The irrigation of green areas using water mostly from artesian wells
The installation of outdoor showers equipped with timers to save as much as possible.

With these and future interventions, we have always demonstrated our dedication to the sustainability of the environment and the well-being of our guests.

At Pra’ delle Torri, clean energy is an important goal

The holiday centre’s environmental commitment is also focused on saving and using eco-friendly electricity.

Photovoltaics

Two photovoltaic systems are installed on the roofs of the buildings at the entrance to the holiday centre, which house a restaurant, a brewery, meeting rooms, and the operational warehouse.

These systems use solar energy to generate clean electricity.

Photovoltaics help reduce CO2 emissions, promoting sustainability. Another step towards a greener future!

Travel with your electric car and recharge it at Pra’ delle Torri

More and more people are moving to electric vehicles – we know this because the charging points at the Pra’ delle Torri Holiday Centre are in high demand.
To cater for this and to reaffirm our commitment to the environment, we’ve installed 10 charging points, for the exclusive use of guests.
This is a great advantage if you choose to spend your holidays at Pra’ delle Torri, as you’ll have no problems finding a place to charge up the car battery while you enjoy your holiday.

Where to find the charging points

There are 5 electric columns, each with 2 paid charging points. Here’s where you’ll find them:

4 charging points in the central square of the Holiday Centre in the car park next to the fountain;
4 charging points right in the middle of the camping area, in front of the Sporting Restaurant and Sports Centre;
2 charging points in the Bungalows area, in the central area next to the golf course, between number 168 and number 189.

Charging capacity and how to charge your car
The columns have a charging capacity of up to 22 Kw with a double socket type 2.
Top-ups are paid for on the app.

Carbon Neutral Toilet Paper and Folded Paper Towels

To contribute to environmental sustainability, the Pra’ delle Torri Holiday Centre has chosen to use Carbon Neutral toilet paper and folded paper towels as complimentary products and in the internal facilities.

This means that the CO₂ emitted during production is offset through ecological projects such as reforestation, reducing the environmental impact. The carbon-neutral companies from which we source adopt sustainable practices, including the use of renewable energy and low-impact technologies. In this way, CO₂ emissions are balanced, making the product a greener and more responsible choice.

Soap and Shower Shampoo

The plant-based soap with paper packaging and the shower shampoo in a compostable plastic tube, adopted from the 2025 season as complimentary products, are eco-friendly choices that reduce plastic use and promote biodegradable materials. The paper wrapping is easily recyclable, while the compostable tube breaks down faster than traditional plastic, helping to reduce waste.

Choosing to provide plant-based soap is an eco-friendly option that combines gentle skin care with respect for the environment.

Our best ally in protecting the environment is you

We ask Pra’ delle Torri guests to help us respect the environment with these simple gestures:

Do not waste water, it is a precious resource
Switch off electrical appliances when they are not needed
Use bins and dispose of waste correctly
Do not pour liquids into the ground, but into the appropriate drains to facilitate their purification
Avoid digging holes in the pitch as they damage plant roots
Use chemical toilets or camper service for the discharge of black and grey water
Use public transport if possible: there is a bus stop just outside reception that runs every hour to any destination in the summer months.

We have set up a number of separate waste collection areas throughout the Holiday Centre, equipped with: yellow bins for paper, dark green bins for organic wet waste, white bins for plastic cans and glass, and green bins for non-recyclable dry waste.

In addition, we would recommend that you prefer cycling or a healthy walk to the car: there are plenty of hikes and cycling routes you can choose from to enrich your stay.

Just outside the main reception, you will find two public transport bus stops. The company running this service has provided two electric buses for urban travel in the area, which will allow you to easily reach Caorle from the Holiday Centre.

‘‘The world is changing; we must move with the change. […] We thank all those who demanded this change and who first showed respect for the environment, they and all others who follow them will always be welcome at Pra’ delle Torri!’’

Stefano Scrignoli, General Manager of the Holiday Centre Pra’ delle Torri
